This is HUGE!!
I have been the international touring sound engineer for 10 time Grammy Award winning group, Take 6, for 10 years now.
We are about to embark on a historic trip, one that hasn’t happened in the last half century. Take 6 and I are going to Cuba, the first musical act to perform in Cuba since the embargo was lifted by Obama, and diplomatic relations resumed. I had no idea how big this concert was until I read the Newswire this evening. It truly is historic! The US Embassy in Cuba, and Cuban officials will be helping us out with logistics as well as attending the concert.
Here is a link to the Newswire Press Release.
Newswire Story – Take 6
For the last month, it has been an ultimate struggle to get the technical and logistical details worked out. Communication has been the ultimate challenge.
I will be taking photos, videos, and writing daily posts about our experience and I hope you would follow along.
Who am I?
As a graduate of Chatfield HS and UNC in Greeley, I have performed as a singer on 9 News many times and most recently with Urban Method, who were finalists on NBC’s The Sing Off in 2011. I’ve been a professional sound engineer for 12 years and have toured with Take 6 for 10 years. I live in Broomfield, CO, run a educational Acappella music festival, own a local Sonic Audio Studios, and tour with the Sing Off national tour and VOCALosity. I also have create new musical groups in Denver, one of which (Motive) just performed for the Mayor, Michael Hancock on his inauguration. My business and passion is acappella music and education based on students chasing their dreams toward the arts, music, and business. I used to work with Kirk Montgomery quite a bit on his live chats for The Voice.
Look for my posts from CUBA!!!!
